BlueBarn Music FestivalFriends...!A 'festival' is a special coming-together of people in celebration. It?¢??s not surprising that most festivals take place in the summer when people seek to renew and recharge. And, we've given this some serious thought in bringing together talented people with fresh ideas that, we hope, will help you recharge. I'm proud to present the First Annual BlueBarn Music Festival ?¢?? 12 evenings of entertainment. Our festival will combine music, visual arts and fine cuisine in a relaxed and personal way. Like a good meal, your experience will depend on the quality of ingredients and how they are blended. MUSIC WILL BE THE MAIN INGREDIENTSome of Omaha's finest musicians -- like camille schmidt and her incomparable jazz quartet, billy mcguigan and his rockin' omaha all stars, vocalists jill anderson and kathy tyree with the versatile bluebarnband, the south omaha arts institute band with Latin favorites, Omaha Symphony standouts amy sims, mark motycka and maria harding, bluebarn regulars nils haaland and moira mangiameli, vocalist kirstin chavez, jazz pianist willis delony and many, many more -- will perform music selected for summertime. ART AND MUSIC BLENDA special nightly feature titled Pictures at An Exhibition will join the work of Omaha visual artists and musicians. Our impressive roster of artists includes jun kaneko (most recently seen in Madama Butterfly), kristin pluhacek, gary day, molly romero, sue knight, james freeeman, wanda ewing, john thein, mary day and lisa tubach. FINE FOOD ADDS A PERSONAL TOUCHThe kitchen is often the friendliest room of the house. With this in mind, some of Omaha's fine restaurants are bringing their kitchens to the BlueBarn for an intermission treat. Our outstanding line-up of restaurants includes dixie quicks, mark's bistro, la buvette, come into my kitchen, thai kitchen, taste and more. THE FESTIVAL BUILDS TO AN EXCITING FINISH ON JUNE 25We are also proud to announce that the venue for the Festival Finale will be the holland performing arts center's new Scott Recital Hall. Joining BlueBarn stars willis delony, billy mcguigan, camille schmidt and others will be the inspirational voices of victory from Salem Baptist Church and the luna y sol mariachi from the South Omaha Arts Institute. I've always wanted to try something like this, but it took the BlueBarn to make it happen. Please... Have a look through the schedule, select an evening or two and then be our guest. Enjoy and thank you!
