March 2008 NewsletterFun -- Fitness -- FriendsSupreme Dictators NeededThe final UNOmaha Women's swim meet is fast approaching -- NCAA Nationals. The team will be leaving at 1 pm on March 10 and returning March 16. Over this extended period I need 4 people to step forward to become 'The Supreme Dictator' of our practices. Mary Pat and Erin have agreed to be in charge of the building, so all you have to do is tell people what to do. Sound like fun? It is! If you can coach on one of these days then e-mail me back pronto (last time someone missed out because they waited); the days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. You can use the practice in the workout book or you can make up your own. Write me -- tsamland@unomaha.edu. Thank you for being involved. Program EtiquetteHere are three more things to remember when it comes to lane etiquette. First, if you show up late for practice then go straight to your lane, hop in, and do whatever the person in front of you is doing. Do not delay with a special stretch routine. Do not stop people to find out what is going on. Just get in and swim. Second, if you need to stop to take a break in the middle of a hard set, then stop in the corner. Stay out of the middle of the lane. As you swim towards the wall. stop in the right hand corner. This allows for a better flow of traffic with other swimmers. Finally, it can never be said enough -- brush your teeth before practice. Quarterly DuesThe first quarter is coming to an end. The next quarter starts in April. You can pay at the end of March or during the first week of April. Spring ForwardDaylight Savings is happening this upcoming weekend. Saturday night as you go to bed, set the clock an hour earlier (spring forward). No PracticeWe will not have practice on Friday or Saturday (March 21 & 22), to honor the request of College of St. Mary as they recognize the holy weekend of Good Friday & Easter. Thank YouA big thank you for all of you who came to the call of help for timers of the North Central Conference Championships. It was great to see so many Masters friends at the last day of the meet!
