Happy Happy Happy

You are part of an impressive group of people! A 5 week shut down would have devastated most programs (and I did have my concerns), but not our group. We had good turnout at Brownell Talbot. Then when we returned to CSM, now we have a fantastic turnout! It really makes me HappyHappy to see so many swimmers back in the water.

Floating an Option

Because of the great turnout, a suggestion is going to be floated for you to consider. Would you participate in a 7-8 am swim practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays? Just during the summer, once Labor Day arrives we will be back to just one practice a day. Please share your thoughts – mostly indicate to me that you are willing to commit to the 7-8 am time slot.

Tickets!! YES!!!

Questions have arisen about getting hold of some tickets to the Olympic Trials. Tickets are still available to watch the events (prelims and finals). This is going to be a phenomenal event. How often can you claim to watch in person a World Record being set in front of you? I have heard predictions of 9 World Records being set. Five Americans currently are ranked in the Top Ten in the World in the 100 back – you may just see three people break the World Record but only two will go onto the Olympics. It will be amazing, these athletes will be putting everything into the race just so they can represent our country – this is huge. Consider making plans to go watch one of the first two days at finals – you may just find your way back to the QWest a few more days that week and along with a few friends in tow!! Tickets are still available.

Party Planner

A Masters Social is in the planning stages. John Wingender will be arriving back to Omaha in the next two weeks and would like to host our Summer Social out at his cabin on Hanson Lake. More details will be available, but for now save the date – Friday, July 18. If you would like to be involved in helping plan this event, then please let me know as soon as possible – the more involved in the planning then the more fun it is for everyone.

No Practice

No practice will be held on Friday, July 4th. Yes, we will have practice on Saturday, July 5th.
