Wonderful People

Hello swimmers. We are still having awesome attendance. The total enrollment is still just a little over 70 people. A few people have just started swimming with us and they seem to really be enjoying it--and the reason they are enjoying it is because of you. I think we truly have some of the most wonderful people in Omaha swimming with us.

Where is that other coach?

Where is that other coach? I think his name was Todd. - The month of August is usually vacation month for the coach. Volunteer coaches are needed, please e-mail me back soon if you can fill any of the coaching voids. To coach all you have to do is read the practice from the workout book. Now of course the volunteer coach (to be addressed as "Supreme Dictator" by all swimmers at practice) has the power to change the workout to what they want to do. Here are the dates that help is needed:

  • August 2nd & 3rd (going to watch Duel in the Pool in California)
  • August 11th, 12th & 13th (going on family vacation)
  • August 19th, 20th, 22nd & 23rd (taking Zac to college at Tennessee).

Please let me know which practices you can help.

Competition

Congrats to all who have enjoyed the competition over the summer. Many have enjoyed doing triathlons all over the region. Some of you really enjoyed the Cornhusker State Games (open water swimming, pool swimming, and triathlon -- even tennis). Mary Pat Moeller will be going to compete and have fun at the USMS National Championships this August 11-15. I am really excited to see how well she is going to do. Even before she dives in the pool she has succeeded. It has been a fantastic experience working with her to get ready for the meet. Next year the Masters World Championships will be held in San Francisco starting on August 6. Do you like competing? Do you like to go on vacation with a fun group of people? Let me know if you are interested!!!

Good Swimming, Todd
