Kelvin Thurman ChallengeDear Swimming Family, I am writing you to inform you of my physical goal for 2006. I have accepted the challenge to ride my bicycle for a century ride (100 miles) to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training. I am participating in honor of Nick Hummel, a family friend that is currently battling leukemia. Nick was diagnosed in 1999 with acute myeloid leukemia and bravely fights this battle each day. He is living a full life as a young man and is graduating in May with a Degree in Pharmacy. Both of my parents have battled cancer. My dad passed away in 1998 from pancreatic and lung cancer, and my mom is an 18-year survivor of Breast cancer. My desire is to play a part in raising funds to further the medical research for the eradication of these diseases. My personal goal is to ask for your participation with my goal is to raise $5000 in donations. Please be as generous as possible in donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You may send your check to me in the enclosed envelope along with the donation card. Make check payable check to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Credit card payment is acceptable if that makes it easier for you.
Nick Hummel I am able to accept donations at any time, however, my fundraising goal is March 23, and so I can dedicate the time immediately prior to the event to my training. I know the physical endurance of the 100-mile bike ride pales in comparison to the challenges these individuals must endure each day. You can check my progress on my website http://www.active.com/donate/tntne/tntneKThurma for pictures, as well as to make online donations directly to the Leukemia organization. Thank you in advance for your generous donation. Sincerely, Kelvin Thurman |
