Hi Swimmers, the below is the cut and paste version of our newsletter without some of the little graphics. - Todd

Vacation Opportunity

The UNOmaha Swim Team has two extra airplane tickets to Hawaii. The travel agency will not let us turn them back in for a refund, but we are allowed to change the original names. The cost we paid per airplane ticket was $850. The flight leaves at 7:45 am on December 27 and will return at 2 pm on January 5 (flights leave from Omaha). We are willing to accept any offer (hoping for at least $500 per ticket) for these two airplane tickets and will accept the highest offer as of this Monday, December 12th .

Holiday Cheer

The Holiday Greens sales was a super opportunity this year and we look forward to doing it again next year. When the orders were placed we had to order them by the case. As a result, we have a few extra. If you would like to buy one please get back to me as soon as possible. Here are the prices: a nice 22 inch wreath costs $16.00 (17 available), a large 28 inch wreath costs $24.00 (2 available), a Door Swag (modified wreath) costs $14.00 (6 available), 10 feet of western cedar garland costs $17.00 (one available), and a yuletide decorator kit costs $9.50 (8 available). These will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Inclement weather policy

The first snow of the year reminds me to revisit the dilemma regarding whether or not practice will be held and how to contact folks. By the time we start swimming, most institutions are just starting to make a decision for the dayâ??s travel arrangements. So how can our group find out if practice is going to be held? To find out if you will be able to swim for that day, just call my office number at UNOmaha. You can call 554-2346 after 5:30 am. You will hear an immediate â??no practiceâ?? message if practice has been cancelled. If we have practice then you will hear my regular long phone greeting.

That Time of Year (Reminder!)

The following paragraph was printed in the previous newsletter. Over the past month we have about 40 people register for next year but still need about 20 to turn in registration forms within the next three weeks.

It is time to pay the annual fee for the program. For the third year, the annual fee and the monthly fee will have no increases. The annual fee will stay at $50 and the monthly fee will stay at $75 per quarter. Over the next two weeks the yearly registration form will be handed out at practice. These need to be returned by December 17 (but the earlier the better) in order to maintain our insurance for the program. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Coaches Needed

As you may have guessed from the Hawaii ticket offer, we will need coaches from December 27 to January 5. Two parts need to be covered; Gate Keeper and Dictator. Hopefully we can have just one or two people be the Gate Keeper, the person who is in charge of keys to unlock the door and turn on the pool lights. The Dictator gets to be supreme ruler over the practice. The Dictator does not have to decide what to do they can just follow the practices in the book (but the Dictator can change their mind and do whatever they want). Please let me know by December 16 if you can help out (you will enjoy it).

Yes!!

Practice will be held on December 24 and December 31. Practice time will be at 7 am for each day.

Keep Swimming

Over the past few months we have been having great attendance. There is not a specific day that has the most swimmers(like we had on Tuesdays during the summer). It is nice having balance. Have you been enjoying the distance oriented sets at Saturday practices?!
